Seltzer
Club soda with fruits
A social drinking experience with a hint of nostalgia designed for the Israeli summer.
Seltzer is a set of vessels for the beverage of club soda with fruits. It includes a sypholux, fruit bowls, glasses and a stroke also used as a fork.

Research based Design
During Seltzer's design process I have conducted a historic, social & sensual research on carbonated water focusing at the substantial role of the sypholux in Israeli culture. The research included scientific articles and history books, interviews with a bartender, food engineer, perfume alchemist & an antique merchant, observations of fruit stands in "Mahne Yehuda" market and many experiments with fruits, herbs, spices and textures. The finding were later implemented into the overall design.
Playfulness was a key aspect designing the system since the joy of using a sypholux was discovered as its biggest advantage. The design is based on a system of spheres divided and cut by cheeky diagonal lines. In order to externalize the coolness of the beverage the vessels are mostly made out of glass which allows them to sweat. The transparency also exposes the fruits color thus encourage appetite. The system's color theme is sea shade and sand creating a genuine Israeli atmosphere.
